Take the train from Zell am See to Krimml falls, which will be spectacular in the rain! Tauern Spa Kaprun and or The the 2 super fantastic Gastein spas are worth a visit. The Werfen ice cave, better when you can the view is very interesting to see along with Werfen Castle. Also a visit to Salzburg is a must.
The light and sound show which was on several times a week was worth the 5 minute walk to the lake. Zell Am See – The Schwalbenwand Runde Hike. This is a 4-5 hour long 11.5km hike which is moderate to strenuous, with the first 4-5km being uphill, a killer for your legs. 10 years ago. Save. We were planning to stay 3 nights in Salzburg & do a 1 day trip by train by zell am see. Afterwards we're going on to Innsbruck & Zurich. My question is: should we just stay 1 night in zell am see & take train directly from there to Innsbruck, rather than travel back to Salzburg & then take train Salzburg- Innsbruck?
